It isn't always aggressive

They say that when in an assault situation, the best response is to fight back. They say that you should shout, scream, push, hit back. In today's age, instead of teaching men not to touch women, we are teaching women how to deal with it. That if a man pins you down against your will, you are supposed to know what to do. You are supposed to be angry, and fight, and report it, and do. Something.

But no one talks about what to do when the assault was followed by forehead kisses and skin-to-skin cuddling. When they fall asleep next to you. When you're shaking and your breathings jumpy and they ask "what's wrong?", but you say nothing. And you lay awake watching the sunlight peer in through the blinds and dance its way across the room, until it's finally time for them to get up and leave. And the second they close that door behind them, you lock it. And you never unlock it again. And with a single sigh, you crumble to the floor in sobs. Because what now?
